Elementary OPT

The Organization of Parents and Teachers at the K - 5th grade is referred to as Elementary OPT. Although a separate organization from Secondary OPT, it shares the same by-laws and has a similar mission: “to support the goals of our educators and foster a sense of community within our school.”

Elementary OPT meetings take place on the second Tuesday of every month during the school year, at 6:30pm in the Elementary School Library. Parents, teachers and students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Elementary OPT's main annual event is the Harvest Festival in the fall. Some of our fund-raising efforts are Box Tops for Education and Cartridges for Kids and the selling of Butter Braids. The funds raised by Elementary OPT are used to pay for elementary field trips, school programs, teacher requests for classroom supplies and teacher appreciation.

Volunteer Opportunities

Monday Folder Help Needed
Consistent volunteers needed every Monday morning beginning August 20th to set up and copy information for parent communication via Monday Folders. Some copying can be done during the week. Job can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. No children, please. Please contact Victoria Marquez e-mail if you can help with this need.
