School funding is one of the defining issues of our time--from the federal level to the state and local levels alike. Because charter schools are tuition-free public schools, they face budgetary issues very similar to those that plague other public schools across the nation. However, these widespread funding problems are locally exacerbated by unclear state policies that often fail to specify how or if districts should share their funding with charter schools. Charter schools also face unique challenges in fiscally and ongoingly supporting their own infrastructure, for unlike other public schools in the district, charters are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining their physical buildings and grounds.

Although great political strides have been taken in the last 1-2 years to ensure charter schools are allotted equal per-pupil funding, these new measures only begin to help make up for the challenges charter schools have faced. As a result, money often comes out of the classroom to pay for buildings. Despite this, charter schools, and Frontier Academy in particular, continue to outperform other public schools academically, and they do so thanks to the support of families and community members like you.

You can support Frontier Academy in a variety of ways. Our annual 5K, spring Gala, ongoing Capital Campaign, SCRIP card purchases, OPT and Booster Club fundraisers, and general volunteer hours are just some of what enable Frontier Academy to continue inspiring excellence in students. So, no matter what resources and abilities you have to give, we have a place for you to serve, and we invite you to partner with us in building leaders.

Frontier Academy is incredibly grateful for the generosity of its supporters. We couldn't do it without you.
