Reporting Bullying

The Frontier Academy administration recognizes the seriousness of bullying, especially through the use of technology, and that no students are immune to such behavior. In an effort to help students report instances of bullying, a form and an email link have been created specifically for this purpose. Please read the following information regarding reporting instances of bullying and what you can expect from the staff at Frontier Academy.

Who should report bullying behavior:
Anyone who feels they have been bullied Anyone who has witnessed another Frontier student be bullied Anyone who has been bullying others and would like help to stop

We encourage students to:
Speak up! Bullies are sneaky about what they do and when they do it. It is very possible that adults will not know something is going on until you report it.
Talk with the counseling department often regarding your emotional well-being. Keep us informed if the bullying continues or ends after it has been reported.

What to do if you have witnessed bullying:
Take a “screen shot” of the text, post, email, etc. (if cyber bullying). Email the screen shot with additional description to ReportIt Include your name, name of bully, date and time of incident, and any relevant history. If bullying is not technology based or you do not have a screen shot, either send an email to ReportIt or fill out a bullying report form at the following link: Report It Google Form

Students should feel free to report bullying at any time to any staff member at Frontier Academy. All reports of bullying will be taken seriously and followed up on accordingly.

What you can expect from the Frontier Academy:
All reports of bullying that are reported to the "Report It" email or bully report form will be followed up on by the counseling department initially (Mr. Byerly or Dr. DeCino). One of the counselors will talk to all students involved to gather information about the bullying incident(s). All reports of bullying that require disciplinary action will be handled by administration (Dr. Seedorf, Mr. Budzynski, Mr. Pfost, or Mrs. Scribbick).
All disciplinary action for bullying incidents will follow the discipline matrix in the student handbooks.
