Secondary Clubs

National Honors Society

National Honor Society is sponsored by Mrs. Powell and meets the third Thursday of each month where we plan community service projects and then carry them out. Our year-long, school-wide project is free tutoring services after school for all secondary school students in the library every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. National Honor Society is not a club, but rather an honor society: Members must be juniors or seniors and are selected each spring through a rigorous, multi-step process requiring that they have a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 and have met personal goals of integrity, service, and leadership.

Academic Pentathlon

Academic Pentathlon is open to all Frontier Academy Middle School students who are seeking a competitive, academic based challenge. We meet during the school year in order to help prepare the team for state and national competitive testing during the spring semester. Meetings are Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mr. Fooshee's room, #222 from 3:00 to 3:30. Mr. Fooshee is the club sponsor.

Coexist

CoExist's goal is to stand up against bullying, spread love, emphasize equality, and improve the school climate here at Frontier Academy. We meet the first and third Tuesday of every month in Mr. True's Chemistry lab during High School lunch. Come out and join Frontier's CoExist, where everyone from every community is welcome. This is a uniting club and welcoming club for anyone part of our Frontier High School community. Come join us in creating an inclusive, loving, and equitable community here at Frontier!

Key Club

Our goal is to build our home, school, and community through service. What does that mean for you? It means you get to help people, feel good about being a part of the change you wish to see in the world and have a nice bundle of community service hours for your resume/college applications. We do things like pack food boxes at the Food Bank, read books with elementary students at East Memorial, trick-or-treat for UNICEF, and lots more!

We meet EVERY WEDNESDAY at 11:20 (during lunch) in the High School Art Room. For more information or to view our projects calendar, please CLICK HERE to visit our website.

Drama

Frontier offers two drama classes during the school day for high schoolers. These classes are laboratory style, not production-based. They allow students to grow in vocal techniques, movement skills, theatre concepts and overall acting ability. Mrs. Elens teaches these courses.

Each year we have three opportunities for students to be involved in extra-curricular, after-school theatre productions. These productions are led by Mr. Settje along with the assistant directors: Mrs. Elens, Ms. Grove & Mrs. Sherman. Students don’t need to be enrolled in the drama classes to participate. In the Fall there is a High School Play and Middle School Play. In the Spring, we produce a combined MS and HS musical which is our largest cast and largest theatre work. All extra-curricular productions require an audition. Audition information and a calendar of dates can be obtained from Mrs. Elens or by calling 970-339-9153.

Student Council

High School

We plan dances, spirit week, and incredible activities throughout the year to help Wolverines thrive at Frontier!! If you would like to have a voice in what goes on at our school, please join! We meet every Monday and Wednesday during access in Mr. Rosson's room.

Middle School

Our mission is building school spirit through community. We achieve this mission throughout the year by organizing dances, spirit week, and other community building activities. If you would like to be a part of this organization, please join! We meet every Monday during access in Ms. Seader's room.

Industrial Arts Club

Frontier Academy is excited to offer a new club for the 2017-18 school year--Industrial Arts Club!

This club is designed to show students how to take all the head knowledge learned in the classroom and apply it with their hands (and sometimes tools!) We will show students what tools to use for the situation at hand, how to properly and safely use power and hand tools, and how to build some great projects that students will get to keep and take home.

The class is open to all middle and high school students. See our table at Back to School Nightto sign up and let’s start building Frontier Academy!

Contact Mr. Harrington at harringtonm@frontieracademy.net with questions if you can’t make it to back to school night, or contact Andy Hinz (Advisor) at 970-590-8351 or ac57hinz@live.com.

Speech & Debate Club

If you’ve ever thought it would be cool to debate all your super fantastic - and probably right - opinions with other people or if you’ve ever wanted to perform a one-person show about a drama or a comedy or if you’ve ever wanted to share a story you have written all while working towards bringing these ideas to the forefront in competition,
Speech and Debate Club is where that will be happening!

Upon request from students, this new club is going to be one of the many options for you to try during this upcoming school year!

If you are at all interested, please reach out to Mr. Kascak at kascakj@frontieracademy.net as soon as possible!
